TELC Exam Registration 

>>Applicants have to register at least 18 days before the exam date in one of our schools, via mail or registration link. If places are free, you can also register at short notice.

Information for students

>>The exams always take place at our Düsseldorf site (Bismarckstr. 101, 40210 Düsseldorf)

>>The exam consists of a written and an oral part. The written exam lasts approx. 2 hours and 30 minutes. Before the oral exam you will have a preparation time (20 minutes). The oral exam takes place on the same day as the written part.

>>You have to bring your passport and a pencil on examination day/no biro!

>>You will receive your certificates 4-6 weeks later

>>You don’t need to write a ‘DSH-exam’ with a Telc C1-Hochschule certificate.



>>In some universities it is possible to study with the certificate of ‘Telc C1’. You can find the list of universities here.

There are six levels of TELC-certificates:

  • A1 / A2 – elementary language skills
  • B1 / B2 – advanced language skills
  • C1 / C2 – competent language skills
 

If you already have a good basic knowledge of German, ‘Zertifikat Deutsch’ / ‘telc Deutsch B1’ is the right exam for you. It tests general language competence and can be taken by anyone.

The certificate Deutsch / ‘telc Deutsch B1’ is recognized as proof of sufficient language competence for a German citizenship application. At level B1 you can communicate in a simple and connected way in everyday situations, while travelling and when talking about topics that are of personal interest. You can describe experiences, hopes and ambitions and give reasons for opinions. On the whole you can use the most important grammatical structures correctly.
